Voice agent for outbound calls
Routiq calls patients on the clinic's behalf — confirmations, recall checks, lapsed-patient outreach — in the same voice as your front desk.
The shape
Routiq’s voice agent already handles inbound calls. Outbound is the natural extension: the AI calls patients to confirm appointments, follow up after a session, or re-engage someone who hasn’t been in for a while.
The clinic owner sets the rules — who, when, what to say if they pick up, what to do if they don’t. The AI does the calling, captures the outcome, updates the patient record.
What we’re working through
This is more product-design work than engineering work. Outbound voice can go wrong fast — patients don’t expect a call from an AI, and timing matters. The hard parts are:
- Consent and compliance (the rules differ by region)
- Voice quality at scale (TTS that doesn’t read as robotic)
- The handoff to a human when the call surfaces something complex
- Reporting back to the clinic in a way they actually look at
We’re moving deliberately. Expect this on the roadmap for a while before it ships.
